Last week, a 48-year-old army veteran on a nationwide bicycle trek died after a traffic accident in Texas.

The San Diego, California man was on a bicycle journey called March Across America for Homeless Veterans when he was struck by a car last Thursday night on eastbound Interstate 40 near Groom. He was transported to an Amarillo hospital, where he died on Friday of his injuries.

The exact cause of the accident is currently being investigated, and charges have not been filed against the driver of the vehicle.
