You've come to the right firm
A car accident can change your life in an instant: serious injuries, medical bills, time away from work and a long recovery. Texas roads are among the busiest in the country. According to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), 3,769 people died in Texas traffic crashes in 2025, and more than 17,000 people were seriously injured. A reportable crash happened about every 59 seconds. If you or a loved one was hurt because another driver was careless, the Daspit Law Firm is here to help.
West Texas drivers face long distances, high speeds on rural highways such as I-10, I-20 and US-285, and heavy commercial and oilfield traffic, particularly in the Permian Basin. Emergency help can be far away, and crashes are often severe. Our Midland and El Paso offices serve clients across the region.

Texas follows a proportionate responsibility rule. A jury assigns a percentage of fault to each person involved. Your compensation is reduced by your percentage of fault, and if you are found more than 50 percent at fault, you cannot recover damages. Insurance companies often try to shift blame, so strong evidence matters.
• Call 911, even for a minor crash, and get medical care.
• Move to a safe place if you can, and exchange information with the other driver.
• Take photos of the vehicles, the scene, road signs and your injuries.
• Get names and contact details of witnesses.
• Do not admit fault or give a recorded statement to the other driver's insurer.
• Contact a lawyer before accepting any settlement.
Generally two years from the date of the accident. Evidence and witness memories fade, so it is best to act quickly.
You may still recover as long as you are not more than 50 percent at fault, but your compensation is reduced by your percentage of fault.
Your own uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage may help. See our insurance claim page.
Texas requires drivers to report crashes involving injury, death or property damage above a set amount. Police usually prepare the report, but check with the officer.
Be cautious. Early offers may not cover future medical needs or lost income. Speak to a lawyer first.
We offer free consultations. Many injury lawyers work on a contingency fee, which means no attorney's fee unless there is a recovery. Ask us how it works.
Yes. We can arrange to meet you where it is convenient.
All too often, accident victims are steamrolled by insurance companies determined to minimize or deny their claims. Don't let this happen to you. Hire us to fight for the compensation you deserve.
