On Friday, October 16, 2015 at about 11 o’clock in the morning, a scaffolding structure on an apartment building in Texas collapsed and caused large metal pieces of material to fall to the sidewalks below. Reports state that many individuals were trapped under the rubble. Firefighters and law enforcement officers have been working hard to remove all victims from the area.
As of now, several persons involved in the accident have been transported to nearby hospitals where they have received immediate medical attention. Reports state that while none of the injuries, so far, are life threatening, there may still be other persons stuck under the debris.
Houston Fire Department’s captain states that a second collapse is very likely to occur. As a result, various law enforcement teams and fire fighters are working hard to clear the area in case a second downfall occurs.
Currently, about 30 units are on the scaffolding accident scene. Investigators continue their search for other victims. Meanwhile, law enforcement agents are working diligently to calculate the amount of workers that were working on the structure versus the workers that have been removed from the rubble.
