Attorney
Attorney Michael Bates is a native of St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from the University of Missouri at Columbia with his bachelor’s in political science. Thereafter, he earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Thurgood Marshall School of Law. While attending Thurgood, Michael was very active on the law school campus and in Houston’s legal community. Michael was elected as Sergeant in Arms for the Student Bar Association where he advocated on behalf of the entire student body and also served as the Vice President of the Black Law Student Association. While in law school, Michael worked for a personal injury law firm. Additionally, Michael served as a Student Attorney for his law school’s Pro Bono Juvenile Clinic. Since becoming an attorney, Michael has represented clients in multiple areas of the law including personal injury, and criminal defense. Michael is a born leader that dedicated to his clients and always goes above and beyond to satisfy the needs of his clients. When not practicing law, Michael enjoys football, music, traveling and spending time with family.
