Assumpta was born in Lagos, Nigeria, and moved to California, United States, at the age of 13. She attended and graduated high school in California, and upon graduation, she moved to Illinois to continue her studies. Assumpta obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois State University and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Illinois. She moved to Houston, Texas, and started her law school career at South Texas College of Law, Houston. While at South Texas College of Law, Assumpta was very involved in the school’s advocacy program. She took part in the T Gerald Treece Summer Trial Academy and went on to travel for the school’s varsity mock trial program. Her advocacy career continued as she went on to compete and win the national championship at the Alternative Dispute Resolution Securities Triathlon held by St. John’s Law School in New York. Before completing her law school career, Assumpta became a certified mediator. She graduated as a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society and obtained her Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law, Houston. Assumpta was admitted to the Texas State bar. Her primary practice areas are in both commercial and personal injury litigation. When she is not advocating for her clients, Assumpta enjoys biking, cooking, baking, reading, and arts and crafts.
