Stephen Small
Biography

Stephen was born in Orange, Texas. Due to his father’s work in the chemical and oil industry, he has lived in numerous places throughout the United States. This migrant upbringing has allowed him to interact and forge friendships with individuals from all walks of life.

Stephen received his Bachelors in Economics with a minor in U.S. History from Texas Tech University. During his time at Texas Tech, he was an active member of their Honor College and graduated with the distinction of Honors. In addition, he had the honor of serving as a representative of Texas Tech as an assistant committee clerk for the Texas Ways and Means committee in the 82nd session of the Texas Legislature. Stephen concluded his tenure at Tech by being recognized as the highest-ranking member of his graduating class.

After college, Stephen pursued his law degree at the University of Houston Law Center. While in law school, he worked as a law clerk for a small firm pursuing DTPA actions primarily against HVAC companies that were overcharging for services or charging for services that were never rendered.

Upon graduation, Stephen began assisting veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars in the tedious and tiresome process of securing their VA benefits. Eventually, Stephen joined a small firm specializing in getting injured overseas contractors in war zones the benefits they are legally entitled to under the Defense Base Act and Longshore Act. It was through the daily interaction with those among us who made a tremendous sacrifice for our country that his zealous pursuit of justice for his client was forged.

When not practicing law, he enjoys spending his leisure time with his friends, watching sports, and playing video games.
